Report: Brazil buys wheat in Russia first in 8 years
MOSCOW, Jul 6 (PRIME) -- Brazil has bought a batch of wheat from Russia for the first time in the past eight years, Bloomberg reported late on Thursday citing Brazilian consulting company Trigo & Farinhas.
“Three flour mills in northern Brazil bought 25 metric tonnes of wheat from Sodruzhestvo agricultural holding to be supplied in July,” the company said.
In December, Brazil lifted a ban on wheat imports from Russia.
Russia’s Agriculture Ministry expects wheat exports at around 40 million tonnes in the current agricultural year.
